2023 will be an important year for Italian Slavists: it will mark the centenary of the birth of leading Italian Slavic scholars such as Angelo Maria Ripellino, Riccardo Picchio, and Sante Graciotti. It will also be the 30th anniversary of the international journal of Russian studies Russica Romana, founded in Rome in 1994 by another leading Italian Slavist, Michele Colucci. For further information about the journal, visit its website http://russrom.libraweb.net/

To mark the 30th anniversary of the journal, a special monographic issue will be published:

Women Writers, Readers, and Heroines in Russian Literature of the 19th-21th Centuries.

The issue will feature unpublished original essays and materials on the varied presence of women in Russian literature, not only as authors, but also as fictional characters and readers.
